Is ytmp3 safe? What the virus warnings mean and how to check any converter
In short
- It depends on the site: YTMP3 is a name used by many unrelated websites, and no single answer covers them all.
- The security write-ups about a ytmp3 virus describe adverts, fake download buttons, notification prompts and unwanted extensions on some of those sites, not harmful code in the conversion itself.
- A converter page is safe to use when it has one download button, no notification prompt, nothing to install, no new tab, no login or card form, HTTPS, a privacy page and a takedown route.
- YTMP3 at opinie-turystyczne.pl meets all of those and keeps no accounts or history, but it cannot vouch for other sites using the name, and downloading is only appropriate for content you have the right to keep.

Is ytmp3 safe? It depends on which site you are looking at, because "YTMP3" is a name used by many unrelated websites and no single answer covers them all. The security write-ups about a "ytmp3 virus" describe adverts, decoy buttons and browser notifications on some of those sites, not anything harmful in the act of converting a video. This site, YTMP3 at opinie-turystyczne.pl, uses the name too and is not connected to any of the others.
This guide explains where the reputation comes from, what the warnings actually describe, and how to judge any converter page in about a minute. It then states what this site does and does not do, including what we cannot promise on anyone else's behalf. If you only want the tool, the converter is one field and two buttons.
Is ytmp3 safe? The short answer
A well-built converter is no riskier than any other web page; the danger on the bad ones comes from what surrounds the converter, not from the conversion.
The sites behind the warnings carry advertising, and that is where the trouble lives: a fake download button that opens another site, a prompt dressed up as a system warning, a request to allow notifications, or an extension presented as a required step. None of that is needed to convert a video, and none of it appears here.
Why the name "ytmp3" has a bad reputation
The reputation belongs to a name rather than to a single site. The name has been carried by ytmp3.cc, ytmp3.nu, ytmp3.gg and their clones. Search for "ytmp3" and the results page is a mixture: unrelated sites sharing the name, app-store listings and a run of "is ytmp3 safe" articles, under a notice that several results on each page were removed after copyright complaints. On Reddit, people ask whether ytmp3.gg can be trusted, and nobody can answer for the rest.
That confusion is the real problem. A bad experience on one site becomes a verdict on every site carrying the name, and lists of ytmp3 safe alternatives circulate for the same reason. We use the name too, so the only honest response is to show how this site behaves and let you check it.
What the ytmp3 virus actually is
There is no virus in the converter code, according to the security publishers who have written removal guides about it. Moonlock's guide (published 3 March 2026) says the converter itself is not the problem; the risk on ytmp3.cc, ytmp3.nu and their clones is adware: pop-ups with malicious links, fake download buttons, unwanted browser extensions and push notifications. Softorino's article (updated 25 August 2026) describes the same pattern: fake download buttons that send you to another site, prompts disguised as system warnings, the "Allow notifications" trap, and extensions that change your search and inject adverts. It adds the warning that matters most: never enter an Apple ID, a Google login, an email address or a card number on a page a converter has redirected you to.
Read the two together and the picture is clear: the "ytmp3 virus" is a chain of events that begins with an advert. You press what looks like the download button, a new tab opens on an unrelated site, that site asks you to allow notifications or install something, and the adverts follow you around the browser from then on.
A one-minute safety check for any converter
You can judge a converter page in under a minute by watching what it asks of you rather than what it promises. A safe YouTube to MP3 converter passes all six points below; a page that fails any of them is not one to type anything into.
- One download button. If a second "Download now" appears after you press the first, the second one is an advert.
- No notification prompt. A converter has nothing to notify you about; "Allow notifications" is the door the adware walks through.
- Nothing to install. No extension, no "download helper", no APK. The conversion runs on the site's servers, and the browser you already have receives the file.
- You stay in the tab. A genuine download starts where you are; a new tab on a different domain means you have been passed to an advertiser.
- No login and no card form. A free converter has no reason to ask for an Apple ID, a Google account, an email address or a payment card.
- HTTPS, a privacy page and a takedown route. The padlock shows the connection is encrypted; a privacy page and a DMCA or contact address show that someone answers for the site.
How this site is built, checked against that list
YTMP3 at opinie-turystyczne.pl passes every item on that list; the table sets each warning sign beside what you see here. The page is one field and two buttons, MP4 and MP3. Press one and the status line moves through checking video, extracting video and converting video; when it reads ready, the file starts downloading in the same tab. If you searched for "ytmp3 no ads", this is what that looks like in practice.
| Warning sign | What it usually means | What you see here |
|---|---|---|
| A second "download" button | An advert dressed as the real button | One MP4 button, one MP3 button, nothing else |
| "Allow notifications" prompt | Adware asking for a channel into your browser | Never requested |
| Extension, app or APK offered | Software that changes your search or injects adverts | Nothing to install; conversion runs on our servers |
| A new tab opens | Hand-off to an advertiser's site | The file arrives in the tab you are in |
| Login, email or card form | Credential or payment capture | No account, no email, no payment |
| No privacy page, no contact | Nobody answerable for the site | Privacy policy, terms, DMCA page, contact address |
On the privacy side there is little to store: no accounts, no download history. Your browser picks the eleven-character video ID out of the link you paste, so the address itself never reaches our servers. The finished file is handed from the conversion service to your browser and is not stored by us; the only records we keep are aggregate conversion counters, without video identifiers and without anything tied to you. The privacy policy lists what passes through our servers, and the takedown page is the route for copyright holders.
An error code in the status line is a failed fetch rather than a security event; the ytmp3 not working guide explains each one.
What "safe" does not cover
A safe converter page does not make every download appropriate, and there are three things we cannot promise. First, we cannot vouch for any other site using the YTMP3 name. This site is independent, not affiliated with YouTube or Google and not connected to ytmp3.cc, ytmp3.nu, ytmp3.gg or any other site carrying the name; what happens there is outside our control.
Second, the video's content is the uploader's responsibility. The MP4 or MP3 you receive is a re-encode of whatever was uploaded, so a misleading video stays misleading in the file, and conversion cannot add detail the upload never had.
Third, downloading is only appropriate for content you have the right to keep. Your own uploads, material under a licence that permits reuse and public-domain content are normally straightforward; copyright material you have no rights to probably is not, and that decision rests with you rather than with the tool. The copyright section on the home page and the terms set out where the line sits.
Frequently asked questions
Is YTMP3 a virus?
No. The security guides that use the phrase describe adware, pop-ups, fake buttons and notification prompts on some sites using the name, not harmful code in the conversion. This site carries none of those.
Is this site the same as ytmp3.cc or ytmp3.nu?
No. YTMP3 at opinie-turystyczne.pl has no connection to ytmp3.cc, ytmp3.nu or any other domain that uses the name. Moonlock's removal guide names ytmp3.cc and ytmp3.nu when it describes the adware, pop-ups, fake download buttons and notification prompts on those sites; we cannot vouch for them either way, only for this page, which carries no advertising.
Is it safe to use YTMP3 on my phone?
Yes. Paste the link in Safari or Chrome and press MP4 or MP3. On iPhone the file appears behind the downloads arrow and in the Files app; on Android it goes to the Downloads folder. Never install an APK a converter offers; there is none here. The phone guide covers both.
Do I need to allow notifications or install anything?
No. YTMP3 runs in the browser you already have. It never asks for notification permission and offers no extension, app or download helper. If a page carrying the name asks for any of those, it is not this site.
Is YTMP3 legal to use?
It depends on the video and on where you are, not on the tool. Your own uploads, material under a licence that allows reuse, and public-domain material are normally fine; copyright material you have no rights to may not be. The guide to converting YouTube to MP3 legally goes through the cases.
One page, two buttons, nothing to allow
The answer to "is ytmp3 safe" depends on the page in front of you, and the safest converter is the one that asks nothing of you beyond a link. This site is built that way, and the one-minute check above lets you confirm it rather than take our word. When you have a video you have the right to keep, paste the link into the converter and press MP4 or MP3.
