Why a 320 kbps file cannot sound better than the upload
Because the audio you receive from YouTube is already compressed, and an MP3 made from it is a second round of compression. YouTube serves the sound of every video as AAC or Opus streams, re-encoded from the file the uploader sent in. When you convert, the service decodes that stream and encodes it again as MP3.
